Allan’s Thoughts On Immune Health Specific to COVID-19

By May 19, 2020No Comments

I’ve watched and listened to everyone’s everything about the virus.  In my opinion, these are some takeaways.

  1. Everyone knows about hygiene and distancing and those are helpful, but we will all likely get exposed sooner or later much like chicken pox or measles so what to do from there.
  2. Elderberry inhibits neuraminidase, an enzyme required for the virus  to “dock” and infect a cell.
  3. Zinc inhibits replicase, an enzyme required for the ribosome to replicate the virus.  Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) is an ionophore which opens a portal for Zn to get into the cell
  4. Quercetin is also a Zinc Ionophor, is non-prescription, and has no side effects
  5. Vitamin A spools up B cells that make antibodies and I would recommend the palmitate form (maybe in the 5,000 to 10,000 iu range).  Even small doses can help.
  6. Astragalus and Vitamin D can help prevent the over-reaction of the immune system or the cytokine storm that can be so destructive to your own body tissues and organs.
  7. Monolaurin can disrupt the viral capsid’s lipid structure and inactivate it thus perhaps slowing an infection but I wouldn’t count on it alone.
  8. There is also recent evidence that NAC (N-Acetyl-Cysteine) can be helpful to boost Glutathione levels and assist to mitigate other symptoms and possible complications of CoVid-19 (ie. Blood clotting … etc)
  9. Dr. Jacob Glanville’s group has modified SARS antibodies and synthesized at least 5 Abs with super high affinity for SARS-Cov-2.  These have been submitted for evaluation and could be available by maybe September.
  10. Vaccines are still a ways away but they will also depend on your immune system’s ability to make suitable antibodies to the virus over a 6-8 week period of time.
  11. The real trick is to do any of these things to prevent significant symptoms and  particularly from the lungs getting too compromised in the first place and the resulting pneumonia.
